The Holiday Spirit

Ahhhh… it’s Christmas, my favorite time of the year. Y’know, normally within our How To segments, we not only show ways to keep your home healthy and safe but we also like to help those who may be in need of a healthier home. I’ve been messing with Christmas lights for more than 30 years now. The world’s biggest headache is to get your lights up and on the tree, only to find a whole section of lights out and then you gotta hunt for the bad bulb. Got Gas? This Type Can Be Deadly!

Radon is an invisible and odorless radioactive gas which occurs naturally from decaying uranium underneath the earth’s surface. Though you cannot see, smell, or taste radon, it is there and has been noted as the 2nd leading cause of lung cancer in the United States.

Radon gas rises through the soil and seeps through cracks, holes, and drain pipes in the foundation or basement of your home and office. Radon gas can be found all over the United States and according to the EPA, 1 out of every 15 homes in the United States has high levels of radon gas.

Preventing Air Conditioning "Terrorism"

Michigan Offers Energy Saving Rebates

Michigan Energy Options has been awarded a grant from the State of Michigan to provide appliance rebates for Natural Gas Furnaces, Propane Furnaces, Heating Oil Furnaces, Natural Gas Water Heaters, Propane Water Heaters, Solar Water Heaters and ECM / Variable Speed Blower Motors.

This program is available for units installed beginning August 1, 2010 and will run through December 31st, 2010 or until rebate funds have been exhausted.
